Consignment could be right for you when…

You want less administration

Creating listings, answering buyer questions, packing and fulfilment all take time. We manage that work after your card has been accepted.

You want a polished card listing

We accept raw and professionally graded cards. After receipt and inspection, we take new listing photographs and prepare the product information for sale.

You want transparent tracking

Your separate, passwordless consignor portal provides access to your inventory, sales and available payout information.

How it works

  1. Submit your cards. Upload clear front and back photos, card details, raw or graded condition information and your proposed NZD selling price.
  2. We review the submission. Submission does not guarantee acceptance. We assess the information before asking you to send the card.
  3. Send accepted cards. Package them securely and use tracked shipping. You may arrange shipping yourself or request a Card Reserve NZ label at your cost.
  4. We inspect and photograph them. We compare each card with the submission, inspect its condition and take new listing photographs.
  5. We list, sell and fulfil the order. The product remains a draft until inspection and approval are complete. Once published, we manage the listing, buyer communication, packing and fulfilment.
  6. Track and request payout. View your inventory and sales in the portal. Once proceeds become eligible and appear as available, request payment to your nominated New Zealand bank account.

Fees and payouts

All amounts are in New Zealand dollars. The consignment fee is based on the card's final sold price after discounts.

Final sold price Card Reserve NZ commission Consignor receives
NZ$500 and above 10% 90%
NZ$200 to NZ$499 13% 87%
Under NZ$200 15% 85%

Shipping charges are not included in the commission calculation. Card Reserve NZ will confirm the applicable commission tier from the final sold price before payout.

Storage: The first 90 days are free. After 90 days, storage is charged at 1% of the card's declared value per month.

Once proceeds appear as available in your consignor dashboard, you can request a payout. Card Reserve NZ will pay by New Zealand bank transfer within five business days of receiving the payout request.

Shipping accepted cards

After preliminary acceptance, securely package your cards and send them using tracked shipping at your cost. Card Reserve NZ can provide a shipping label upon request; the label cost remains your responsibility. Detailed delivery instructions will be supplied after your submission is approved.

You remain responsible for the card until Card Reserve NZ confirms delivery.

Review, pricing and unsold cards

We inspect every card after arrival. If its authenticity, condition, grading information or other details differ from the submission, we may reject it or propose revised listing details. Any proposed price change will be discussed with you before listing.

The minimum consignment period is 24 days. After that period, you may request the return of an unsold card. Collection or tracked return shipping is at your cost. A card cannot be withdrawn after a customer has purchased it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I use my normal Card Reserve NZ account?

The consignment portal is separate from Shopify customer accounts. It uses a secure one-time sign-in link sent to your email address, so there is no second password to remember.

Will my submission appear for sale immediately?

No. Customer submissions create draft products. Card Reserve NZ reviews the submission, receives and inspects the card, takes new listing photographs and decides whether to approve it before publication.

Will you use my uploaded photographs for the listing?

Your uploaded photos help us review the submission. After an accepted card arrives and passes inspection, Card Reserve NZ takes new photographs for the sales listing.

Can I submit raw and graded cards?

Yes. Clearly state whether the card is raw or graded. For graded cards, include the grading company, grade and certification number. For raw cards, disclose condition issues as accurately as possible.

Who decides the selling price?

You may propose a selling price when submitting. Card Reserve NZ reviews it and will discuss any proposed change with you before listing. The service does not use a separate minimum or floor price.

How is my consignment fee decided?

The fee tier is based on the final sold price after discounts. Card Reserve NZ confirms the applicable tier before payout because the consignor portal does not automatically change price bands.

What happens if my card does not sell?

You may request the return of an unsold card after the 24-day minimum consignment period. Storage remains free for the first 90 days. After 90 days, the storage charge is 1% of declared value per month. Collection or tracked return shipping is at your cost.

How do I see my cards and payouts?

Use the consignor portal to view your own inventory, sales and payout information. Portal access is provided by an emailed one-time sign-in link.

Who pays shipping?

The consignor pays incoming and return shipping. You may arrange tracked shipping yourself or request a Card Reserve NZ shipping label at your cost.

What if my card is rejected?

A rejected card may be collected or returned using tracked shipping at your cost.
